We were having what they call a "Girls Granny Basketball" get together.
This has brought history back from the 1920"s which was wearing bloomers with "knee high" socks.
Girls basketball had started in the 1920's across Iowa and may states. It was 4 on 4 in the beginning with half court. , In 1934 switched to Six on Six--- half court. In the 90's the girls switched to the 5 on 5 full court (Much faster game) with State Tournaments being held in Des Moines, Iowa. I was one of the fortuneate ones that played six on six with going to State Tournament (For Royal Iowa) in 1954-55-56-57.
To keep history alive a group of Granny's across the different states have formed and do play each other.

We were offered to play some games---with using 1920's rules. A group of us thought ok--Lets do the whte bloomers and some "funky knee high socks" WOW!! I found thess on your web sight and was just perfect for our school colors of Royal Blue with White.
